In Loving Memory of
Richard Reid Smith

of Beaverlodge, Alberta
December 10, 1948 - April 30, 2022

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, grandpa, and husband, Reid Smith. Reid passed away at the age of 73 years, surrounded by his family.

Reid was born December 10, 1948, in Sexsmith, AB. He enjoyed a good crib game, especially if he was skunking you. He enjoyed making pies for the holidays, especially his famous lemon meringue pies, going for motorbike trips with his son Dwayne, and going for father/daughter lunches with his daughter Tracy. But what brought the biggest smile to his face was seeing his grandsons and seeing their dreams come to life.

Reid leaves behind to keep his memory alive: his daughter Tracy, son Dwayne (Angele), and grandsons Eric Cole and Tanner Chase; his wife Elizabeth, grandson Shawn, Elizabeth’s children: Lynn, David, Rick (Mel) and their children and grandchildren.

Reid also leaves behind: his brother Hugh (Brenda), sister Sandra, sister Darlene (Jim), sister Renee (Fred), sister Shauna, brother Grant (Lorraine); as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was predeceased by his infant son Sheldon, mother Mary Kowski, father Alec Smith, sisters Maureen and Connie, brother Garth, stepdaughter Elizabeth Jones, stepdaughter-in-law Angela Jones, and step-granddaughter Cheryl Jones.

As per Dad’s wishes there will be no funeral service.

There will be a memorial luncheon for family and friends to share stories, on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, at the Grande Prairie Museum Community Room. (10329 101 Ave., Muskoseepi Park, Grande Prairie).
