Lorene Beck

March 4, 1954 - July 18, 2023

Lorene Beck, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Fort Vermilion, AB, passed away peacefully with Kim and Raymond by her side on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Prairie Lake Hospice, at the age of 69 years.

 

Lorene was born on March 4, 1954, in Edmonton, AB, and raised in Strathcona County, AB. She worked as an Licensed Practical Nurse in Fort Vermilion and High Level Hospitals, before moving into Homecare in Fort Vermilion. Lorene eventually transferred to Homecare in Grande Prairie to be closer to her kids and grandkids.  Lorene was a very dedicated Mother, Friend, and Nurse. The Strength and resilience Lorene exhibited throughout her long battle with cancer was inspiring to witness.

 

Lorene’s laugh was contagious to anyone who heard it. She loved travelling and camping “Glamping”. Her biggest trip was a 3-week vacation to Greece with her work friends. Lorene also took trips to Vancouver with her sisters Aila and Susan. She also went to Cuba, and Mexico with her sister Alia. Lorene loved family vacations with her kids, many trips were taken to the Shuswap, camping trips to Joussard, travelling to Cuba and Dominican with Kim and Jason. As well as a Caribbean Cruise with her friend Anita. 

 

She loved retirement, her favourite part was getting to sleep in and never setting an alarm again. She spent retirement watching her TV shows and relaxing in the comfort of her favourite chair.

 

Lorene will be sadly missed by her daughter Kim (Jason) Cassity and their children Layne and William; her son Raymond (Christine) Pasmore and their children Jamie and Josh; and her great-grandchild Kylee; sisters Alia and Susan; brother Allan; many nieces and nephews; as well as best friends Theresa and Sheila, who were by her side until the end.

 

Lorene was predeceased by her parents Nora and Raymond Beck, and sister in-law Diana.

 

Lorene loved gathering with family and friends to enjoy a good old fashion wiener roast. So, in her honour we are holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 3:00pm, at Ray and Christine’s (Lot 72, Sandy Ridge Estates, County of Grande Prairie).
