James Cecil Crichton

August 3, 1942 - July 15, 2023

James Crichton, resident of Clairmont, AB formerly of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 80 years.

James was born and raised in the Peace Region. He will always be remembered as “The Watkins” salesman. James touched many lives and was loved by all who knew him. For the last few years of his life, he got to enjoy being a grandfather. The grandkids really wish that they could have had many more years with him. James could be a very gruff, old-school kind of man, but could definitely make you chuckle with his little quips. Our favorite was “10-4, over and out” when ending a phone call with you.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Joan Crichton; children Amy Crichton and Rod (Karla) Crichton; grandchildren Daymion, Jackson, and Keygon; all those who considered him “Dad”, such as Nadine and Matt, Debbie, Julia, Twila, and, of course, Colin Taylor; as well as anyone else who knew and loved him, there are way too many to list.

Following James’ wishes, there will be no service or funeral. James wanted to be cremated and for his death to be simple so that Joan and his family would not have to fuss. Cremation took place on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
