Carol Lindblom (nee Porterfield), resident of Grande Prairie, AB passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Mackenzie Place Grande Prairie at the age of 85 years.
Carol was born in Spirit River, AB, on September 18, 1935 to Dora and Jack Porterfield and lived and attended school in the Bronco Creek area (north of Spirit River).
She left home shortly after her mother Dora passed in January 1953. Carol has two siblings Rod (Ann) of Peace River, AB (Rod passed December 2019) and Joyce (Gerhart) Delfs of Red Deer, AB.
She married Vernon Ross and they lived in Stuart Lake, BC. They then moved to Fort St. John, BC where they raised their three daughters: Edith, Fern and Heather.
In later years Carol married Marvin Lindblom and his family became a very important part of her life. After Marvin passed, Carol continued to live in Grande Prairie and moved into Wild Rose Manor in 2008 where she spent 12 years organizing Bingo events and doing many more volunteer jobs in the Grande Prairie area.
Carol leaves to mourn: her daughters Fern and Heather, sister Joyce, sister in-law Ann, step-sons Clarence and Curtis, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her daughter Edith, mother Dora, father Jack, brother Rod, and many aunts and uncles.
