Carole Hadwen, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Watson Lake, YT, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 79 years.

Carole was born on September 19, 1943, in Reigate, Surrey, England. She came to Canada on February 15, 1946, and lived with her family in Calgary, AB, until 1981, when she moved to Squamish, BC with her son. Her next venture moved her to Watson Lake in 1991. In 2007, she moved to her last place of residence, Grande Prairie, to be with her son and family.

Carole had a passion for flowers and pets. Her flower arrangements were gorgeous. She was always known as the “treat lady” to many fur babies. Carole loved working on puzzles with her friends at Wild Rose Manor and participating in events throughout the year.

She will be sadly missed by her son Rob (Sandy) Hadwen; grandchildren: Rob III Hadwen, Bell Watt (Sandy’s daughter), and Will White (Carole’s son’s former marriage); sisters Sandra (Pat) Harty, and Arlene (George) Erfle; nephews Scott and Dustin; and nieces Michelle and Charmaine and their children.

Carole was predeceased by her father Alexander Anst (1993), mother Muriel Anst (2008), and her pet Max whom she dearly loved (2018).

A Family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
