Bruce Gordon Rutherford

of Grande Prairie, Alberta
September 7, 1954 - December 21, 2023

Bruce passed away at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital at the age of 69. He was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Barbara Rutherford, brothers Dennis Rutherford, John Rutherford, and Wayne Rutherford, as well as his nephew Justin Rutherford.

Bruce is survived by his children: Larry (Jason) Rutherford, Adam (Kendall) Rutherford, and Andrea (Dereck) Rutherford; his grandchildren: Bobbi-Ann and Mikayla Rutherford, Tyson and Carter Rutherford, and Karsen, Sydney, and Ainsley Van Sickle; his brother Dale (Jody) Rutherford; nieces Melanie Rutherford and Krysten (Kellen) McCarthy; as well as the mother of his children Marie Rutherford.

Bruce was raised in Plenty, Saskatchewan where he took over the family farm and brought up his children. He enjoyed being in the cattle industry, involving his children in 4-H where he was a leader for many years. Bruce enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Bruce was an avid Calgary Flames and Saskatchewan Roughriders fan. Bruce later pursued an education and through hard work and dedication became a Third-Class Power Engineer. This education brought him to Grande Prairie where he was involved in the opening of the new hospital. Though Bruce was private, he was very passionate about his work, no matter what the task.
