Yvonne Gouchee, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Prairie Lake Hospice, at the age of 73 years.

Yvonne was born in Beaverlodge, AB, in 1951 to Alex and Evelyn Dunbar. She was the oldest of four siblings. Yvonne grew up in Beaverlodge, however she spent a lot of time at her grandparent’s farm near Halcourt, AB.

Yvonne had two children, Troy and Gordie Gouchee, and they later moved to Grande Prairie, AB, where she worked in the hotel industry as a desk clerk for many years.

Yvonne had a great love for animals, and was very independent. In her last years, Yvonne moved in with her stepfather, Norman Birch, whom she was very fond of, and they two of them took care of each other.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Troy Gouchee and Gordie Gouchee; stepfather Norman Birch; as well as her brother Darcy Dunbar (Victoria); and nephew Austin.

Yvonne was predeceased by her parents, Alex Dunbar and Evelyn Birch; and brothers Darren and Warren Dunbar.

A Celebration of Yvonne’s Life will be held for immediate family this Spring.
