Oren Roe

of Kinuso, Alberta
July 6, 1948 - February 20, 2025

Oren Kenneth Roe, resident of Prairie Lake Seniors Community, formerly of Kinuso, AB, passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 76 years.

Oren was born July 6, 1948, in High Prairie, AB. At the age of seven, Oren moved to Fort Bragg, California, and then returned to Kinuso at the age of nine. He remained in Kinuso until 1965, during which he completed his schooling up to grade eleven. In 1966 Oren returned to Flint, Michigan, to complete his grade twelve, as well as one year of college. In 1969,  Oren and Sharon were married. Oren was a man devoted to his family, as well as too his vocation. He worked in the oilfield for 50 years, until his retirement.

Oren was light-hearted, quick witted, humorous, and sensitive. He loved his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids immensely.

Oren loved listening to music and reading. He was quite the outdoorsman; enjoying yardwork, walking, trapping and hunting. He had a passion for sports, such as hockey, baseball, and curling. Oren was also an amazing dancer.

Oren will be sadly missed by his wife, Sharon; children: Shawn (Francy), Tammy, and Ryan (Crystal); grandchildren: Christopher (Melissa), Dillon (Rebecca), Brandon, Rebecca (Jordan) Schmidt, Dani, Tielle, Koby (Sadie); great-grandchilden: Reid, Jacqueline, Alex, Harper, Oaklynn, Gracelyn, Skylar, and Bennett; sisters: Sharon Sloan and June Roe; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, sister-in laws, and brother-in-laws.

Oren was predeceased by his mother, Louise Roe; father Ernest Roe; son-in-law Richard Cook, brothers: Curly and Bruce; sister Doris; brother-in-laws: Randy Cuthbert, Ken Sloan, and Marvin Hunt; sister-in-law Kathy Cuthbert; nephews: Tim Roe and Bruce Hunt; niece Diane Sandul; mother-in-law Doris Cuthbert; as well as father-in-law Mert Cuthbert.

A Celebration of Oren’s life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Oren and Sharon’s home in Kinuso, AB.
